OUR STORY
Nate Vanderveen and Chris Sawyer have been best friends for nearly twenty years. The two first met in Algebra class in 2005, while attending high school together in Grand Rapids, MI. Over the years, they built a strong friendship based on trust, shared interests, an enterprising spirit, and respect. This connection formed the backbone for their business partnership. One of their favorite things to do was dream of business ideas together. The phrase " This would be a great idea!" was exclaimed many times through the years as they thought of different concepts to provide customers unique and high quality services. Nate ultimately went on to form a landscape construction firm. He employed many high school and college students for nearly 15 years. The company built many of the large timber retaining walls around homes and businesses in West Michigan and East Lansing. Chris went into the plumbing and sewer world. He was employed by a company in Grand Rapids, before he went into business himself for almost 10 years. He focused on drains, septic systems, and sewer repair work. In 2024, they merged their two companies to form Vanderveen & Sawyer, LLC.
Nate brings a wealth of experience in project management, heavy equipment, excavation logistics, and customer satisfaction. Chris contributes his expertise in underground infrastructure, on-site safety, and a passion for building client relationships. Together, they compliment each other's strengths, ensuring the company delivers high-quality results for your project. With their combined skills and unwavering support for one another, Nate and Chris are committed to providing you professional and reliable services.
